Interpretation

    • COFFIN FURNITURE Colour - orangey-brown. Shape #1 strap-like shape distorted by corrosion. Two fragments of wood are adhered to one side of the strap with the grain running at right angles to the length of the strap. #2 is irregularly shaped containing a strap with a fragment of wood with the grain running at right angles to the strap. #3 as for #2. #4-7 are irregularly shaped but have no strap or wood fragments evident. Surface - rough and irregular with small areas of smoothness. Weight = #1 - 41g; #2 - 17g; #3 - 8g; #4 - 5g; #5 - 2g; #6 - <1g; #7 - <1g Dimensions = #1 - 68 x 47 x 22mm; #2 - 42 x 35 x 18mm; #3 - 32 x 30 x 13mm; #4 - 32 x 25 x 12.5mm; #5 - 20 x 18 x 10mm; #6 - 20 x 15 x 5mm; #7 - 21 x 7 x 6 mm
