Interpretation

    • COFFIN FURNITURE Colour - orangey-brown. Shape #1&2 strap like; #5&6 resemble nail heads; #7 resembles a circular washer with a central hole with a protrusion on one side (? nail shaft fragment); #3,4 8-11 are irregular shapes. All fragments are distorted by corrosion. Surface - rough and irregular. Weight = #1 - 40g; #2 - 40g; #3 - 14g; #4 - 10g; #5 - 6g; #6 - 3g; #7 - 2g; #8-11 <1g (total) Dimensions = #1 - 69 x 37 x 23mm; #2 - 74 x 38 x 21mm; #3 - 34 x 23 x 17mm; #4 - 37 x 22 x 19mm; #5- 28 x 21 x 15mm; #6 - 20 x 15 x 11mm; #7 - 23 x 17 x 10mm; #8-11 all smaller (11 x 8 x 6.5mm minimum)
