Registered Find Basics

Interpretation

    • METAL (IRON) Colour - orangey-brown. Shape Evidence of a double-layered strap within fragments 1&2, but the shape is considerably distorted by corrosion. Strap-like part is 21-22mm wide and 4-5mm thick. Fragment 2 may have a nail fragment incorporated at its thickest dimension. Fragments 3&4 are irregularly shaped and show no evidence of containing a strap. Surface rough and irregular. Weight = #1 - 69g: #2 - 60g: #3 - 6g: #4 - 3g Dimensions = #1 - 83 x 46 x 32mm: #2 - 83 x 41 x 36mm: #3 - 28 x 23 x 19mm: #4 - 22 x 15 x 13mm
