Narrative

    • E-W aligned burial of an individual lying in a supine extended position with their head to the west and no grave goods, in keeping with the Christian tradition and the other graves within this cemetery. The lower legs and feet extend beyond the eastern LOE of TR2W and the grave itself is represented by a rectangular cut truncating through wall F722. This grave is therefore extremely useful in providing a possible date before which wall F722 must have been constructed. The parts of the skeleton existing within the bounds of TR2W LOE were lifted in the 2022 season and would be a useful candidate for C14 dating.
