Narrative

    • E-W aligned ditch, relatively substantially-sized, possibly field boundary. There was intentionally dumped domestic waste, (6010)=(6011), at the base of the ditch, which was sealed by large stones. The basal fill, (6010)=(6011), was overlain by a fill with fewer inclusions (6005) which likely reflects the gradual accumulation of the upper parts of the ditch. Layer (6004) is broadly similarand the likley consistuent material for the upper fill (6005).

Dating Narrative

    • A fragment of green-glaze pottery was recovered from basal fill (6010)=(6011), indicating that the feature dates from the Medieval period.
