Narrative

    • The top of a skull (SK2264) was exposed in the southern area of trench 2 (west) but was not investigated any further. It was discovered upon the excavation and removal of partial skeleton SK2189 and appeared to be beneath it. However, SK2189 was disarticulated and without further excavation to reveal the extent of SK2264, any relationship between the two cannot be confirmed. Given this feature's proximity to other graves nearby also within the same graveyard soil (2164), it is possible that it is part of an articulated grave itself and broadly contemporary with the others, although no associated cut and fill were visible. Further investigation would be necessary to confirm if this was indeed an in situ grave.
