Narrative

    • A probable east-west aligned stone-capped grave near the South-Eastern corner of trench 2 (west), a small portion of which continues into section. Whilst this was not excavated, a skull and some ribs (SK2193) were revealed at the western end of the feature, indicating a burial. Four large stones (2289) appear to cover a large portion of the feature, suggesting a stone capped grave. Similar to most graves in the vicinity, the feature exists within the disturbed layer 2164 (interpreted as a graveyard soil) with no distinct cut visible. It may therefore be broadly contemporary with these, but further excavation would be needed to confirm this. No direct relationships to other features were observed.
