Fill of a grave truncating metalworking pit F206
Issued to
Ben Swain | 21/09/2023

Interpretation

    • Fill of grave 2549 F737 containing SK2561. This material was rich in charcoal/burnt clay/metallurgical debris relating to the use of the metalworking pit/hearth through which the grave truncates. This material was likely excavated out of the original in-situ metalworking hearth before the body was inserted and the same material used to backfill the grave.
