Short Description:
Cut of a grave truncating metalworking pit/hearth F206
Issued to
Nat Jackson | 16/09/2023

Interpretation

    • cut of a grave containing SK2525 - a prone skeleton. This burial truncates the metalworking pit F206 through its centre and from above. Some elements of the original burnt edge of the metalworking hearth remain visible near the northern edge of the grave cut. The roughly rectangular grave cut is filled with a material containing a high quantity of burning/burnt clay/metallurgical debris. This indicates the grave was dug through metalworking hearth F206 and subsequently backfilled with the same material.
