Short Description:
Stone lined box near the drain area TR2W
Issued to
Richard Barnsley | 08/09/2023

Interpretation

    • Stone lined box, one course in height, made of roughly/unfinished sandstone. Initially, in appearance, this looked ike it could have been a small stone lined grave. However, upon excavation, no skeleton was recovered. It is possible this box was used as some form of water tank or cistern that may have led towards stone lined drain F724. It is also possible this feature was part of, or built into, wall F723 which also appears to continue on towards the North of the trench
