Short Description:
Burnt wood in flue of lime kiln
Issued to
Arthur Tucker | 03/10/2022

Interpretation

    • In-situ remains of burnt timbers located at the base of the limekiln F217 within the flue F294. These timbers most likely represent remnants of the fuel for the final firing of the kiln. Therefore, a sample was taken from this material to provide a C14 date for the final firing of the kiln and for species ID to identify the type of wood used as fuel.
