Short Description:
Cut of E-W aligned grave in the western side of TR2(W). Unexcavated
Issued to
Timothy Lidbetter | 25/09/2021
2111

Interpretation

    • A probable east-west aligned grave cut in the central/western area of trench 2 (west). Whilst this feature was unexcavated, a skull and some other skeletal remains were exposed. It was also in close proximity to five other features also interpreted as possible graves that were discovered in a slot excavated into the graveyard soil 2164. These mainly rectangular features, visibly cut into a new layer (2168), were laid out parallel in an area of the trench near to where other confirmed graves were present. However, further excavation would be needed to confirm if this feature is an intact fully articulated grave. No direct relationships to other features were visible.
