Short Description:
Disarticulated adult burial in the south west corner of trench 2 (skull and humerus)

Interpretation

    • Very disarticulated, only skull and humerus evident. Not convinced both elements are the same burial. Noted very sharp orbital ridge on left life so queried as female. Lower jaw missing.

Description

  • Majority of body not present but skull and humerus aligned E-W
  • Tilted and rotated on alignment NW-SE, looking E. Lower jaw not present
  • Only one humerus present, seems to be right. Aligned E-W

  • Fair although skull is fragmentary. Large slice of bone missing at the back of the skull indicating a sharp weapon injury, probably cause of death
  • Probably not the same burial
