  • I'm an archivist by profession and now work as the Information Governance Manager for the City of Edinburgh Council.
  • I studied medieval archaeology and history at university, and love Northumberland and it's Saxon past. The dig is a wonderful fusion of all my interests and a once in a lifetime opportunity to help locate something of real historical importance and significance, not to mention bring a fantastic birthday present!
  • Learning about sections. Its not just what comes out of the ground, it’s how its positioned in the ground! Seeing features and being able to appreciate that. And Brendon was super! Just being here and being part of it. Experiencing the archaeology, the people and the island. It’s a special place. A lot of rubble! Archaeology is physically demanding, but the joy of discovery and ability to contribute to our understanding of the past is exhillerating.
