Short Description:
Partially exposed skeleton visible in grave truncating stone lined channel 2433
Issued to
Ben Swain | 11/10/2022

Interpretation

    • Fully excavated in the 2024 season. This is indeed an E-W aligned skeleton, supine extended in the early Christian tradition. This grave is a prime C14 candidate as it truncates stone lined drain F724 and wall F725

    • E-W aligned supine extended skeleton within a grave visible truncating through stone lined channel F724. It is expected that this skeleton will be a part of a fully articulated grave, but further excavation would be required to confirm or deny this. If excavated in future seasons, this skeleton could potentially provide a latest possible C14 date for the use of the stone lined channel.
