NE-SW aligned skeleton buried on its right side within grave cut [2308] in eastern slot of TR2 (W)

Interpretation
-
- Typical Christian burial. Suspected to be early medieval due to depth. Initial observations suggest female and in good health - bones and teeth appear healthy.

Description
- NE-SW aligned lying on right side head facing south
- Lying on right side facing south
- Right arm is extended alongside the torso
- Left arm is slight flexed at elbow upper arm is lying on top of torso and the lower arm is flexed at the elbow with left hand placed in front of the abdoment
- Not fully visible - extends beyond LOE
- Left leg is under baulk, however we can see the head of the femur and the position suggests that the left leg is extended however this cannot be seen

- Much of the bones is extremely well preserved however more fragile bones are disturbed and broken
- bone remained in a very good condition with only some slight fragmentation during lifting
- This skeleton was partially exposed and lifted in 2021. The lower part of the skeleton extended beyond the eastern LOE of TR2(W) and could not be lifted. This grave is off alignment with others observed in trench 2 west and cuts ditch F707
