Description
- The shape of the cut from a birds eye view. Is it oval? Irregular? Linear? Curvilinear?
- Are they square? Rounded? Note: not all cuts with have corners, e.g circular features. If so you can leave this box blank
- Record the dimensions of the cut in meters to two decimal places in the following format: Length - X.XXm Width - X.XXm Depth - X.XXm
- What is the alignment of the cut? If it is a post-hole or stake-hole, what direction is the bottom of the cut relative to the top? Note: not all features have an orientation if so leave this blank.
- What shape is the base of the cut? Is it concave? Convex? Flat? Irregular? Sloping? V-shaped? Undercutting? Tapered?
- Only relevant to post-holes and stake-holes. Describe the measurements in millimetres.
- Does the feature look like it has been truncated (cut into) by anything else? Does it truncate anything else? If not leave blank. If yes state what has truncated it, e.g. cut truncated by later ditch [1023] or cut truncates earlier ditch [1018].
- Include any other information that may assist the description and aid in the interpretation of the cut. A good thing to include for cuts is what contexts fill the cut.
