Short Description:
Dirty pinkish clay patch in central corner of NE quadrant of trench 1. Possibly not a distinctive context

    • A fairly amorphous patch of pink clay, likely deposited through puddling, acting as a caping layer to the gully

Description

  • Very compact
  • Pinky brown
  • Slightly silty clay
  • Occasional small rock chips, large patches of charcoal
  • L: 0.60m W: 0.35m D: 0.06m
  • Contained quite a dense patch of charcoal so sample 238 was taken
  • Hand ex with trowels in dry and cloudy conditions
