  • Clayey silt
  • Occasional limestone fragments, 1.5 cm. Concentration of charcoal at W end of central E-W slot - sample taken.
  • Covering most of the cross-shaped slot, apart from northern end.
  • A spread of charcoal was seen in the west of the slot, this was sampled as Sam no. 227
  • Trowelling
