Explore the open archaeological data from our digs at Lindisfarne

  • My present ‘ real life’ interests now that I am a retired biology teacher are worldwide travel to explore the natural history and culture of different countries. After my recent move to live in Brighton I am thoroughly enjoying the live music venues, theatre, dance and everything else Brighton has to offer, which includes meeting many new friends with lots of diverse interests. It has also brought me in closer contact with my family.
  • Professionally, I specialised in genetics, biochemistry and human evolution. I have always held an interest in the development of our social culture and our connections to past civilisations. Apart from fossil hunting at Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay, this will be first opportunity for hands on discovery of our ancestors artefacts, a very exciting proposition. I have ancestral origins from the North East of England, Northumberland is my favourite relatively undiscovered tourist part of England (thankfully!) Lindisfarne especially holds interest with its important link to our religious past and the immense question of the role of religion in our future.
