- Romano-British bone handle from Victoria Cave

- This Romano-British handle was possibly part of an iron tool and made out of bone. Its length is 6.8cm and decorated with rough lines of rings and dots. It was probably placed in Victoria Cave as part of a Roman-British cave cult that started sometime after AD70. Accessioned in the T Lord Collection.

- ”(?Tool) Handle (L. 6.8 cm) Tapering, rather oval sectioned and with chamfered, cut tip and rough (?broken) butt. Damage to one face. Tip has probably short, central, sub-rectangular piercing retaining probable iron corrosion products. Rough line of ring and dots around butt and crudely executed, poorly spaced lines of five, six and eight ring and dots running up to the tip.”
