- Romano-British flagon neck from Victoria Cave

- This neck of a Romano-British flagon was found at the back of Victoria cave. It is made of light red clay and contains quartz and calcite depositions. The material suggests that it has been produced in York and it was probably placed inside the cave in connection with a Romano-British cave cult that started sometime after 70AD. Accessioned in the T Lord Collection.

- "The neck of a flagon in an oxidised, hard, light red fabric, with translucent quartz temper; the single handle has a deep central groove. Some calcite deposition on the body and over the breaks. [..] the fabric suggests this is is possibly a York product."
