- Romano-British marble cosmetic palette from Victoria Cave
Interpretation
-
- This Romano-British cosmetic palette is made of white marble with a green serpentine pattern – possibly an old wall veneer. It is 8.27cm long and was found in a dark and difficult to reach area at the back of Victoria Cave. It was probably placed there sometime after 70AD in the context of a Romano-British cave cult. Accessioned in the T Lord Collection.
