Interpretation

    • Subsoil

    • The trench was excavated by machine to the top of a very small patch of possible subsoil remnant (7002), 0.42m long by 0.49m wide composed of a light reddish-brown silty sand with occasional medium and moderate sub-angular stones poorly sorted at the very south of the trench. No other sub-soil was located underneath the ploughsoil but it is very similar to 7011, 7028 and 7020 suggesting the wall fills and earthen mound are of the same materiel
