Interpretation

    • A period of abandonment of the building is indicated by two rubble layers located at the east of the trench that are indicative of collapse (F709) (7026), (7018) at either side of the wall to the west (F703) composed of frequent medium sub-angular stones some sculptured pressed into the clay (F707)(7017), (7012). This suggests that the rubble collapsed from above and wedged into the clay at either side of the wall.
