- Flint scraper
Registered Find Basics
Interpretation
-
- Made on the distal fragment of a non corticated flake that was modified by a semi-abrupt retouch along the majority of its edges to form a circular outline. It was in relatively fresh condition and made on dark grey flint with speckled inclusions. It measured 20.0 x 21.3 x 5.1mm. Thumbnail scrapers, also referred to as button scrapers, are a distinctive type found in the early Bronze Age (after Butler 2005) (Dr Joshua T Hogue)
