- A circular hole was cut into the ground possibly with the purpose of placing a stake/post within it. At some later point this post was removed or degraded and the hole became filled with loose soil. Notably at the bottom of the pit were a few scattered stones these might have been the original post packing or were placed following the possible removal of the post but before the pit’s infilling.
