- Firm brown clay under 4021, potentially made ground. Hard mid orange/ red brown clay with very rare small sub angular stones and small sub circular limestone chunk. Vast majority of layer clean.

- Light brown silty clay layer beneath 4015, a possible made ground. Compacted light greyish brown silty clay with 5-10% charcoal flecks, occasional small rounded pebbles.

Context: MDC_4037
- Clayey material under 4008 (in eastern slot, between walls 4038 and 4039). Likely natural or made ground above the natural. Compacted dark orangey brown clay with Occasional charcoal and mortar flecks. This was excavated to a depth of 0.20m before this layer was assumed to be natural/redeposited natural made ground.

- Possible made ground layer into which foundation trench 4045 is cut. Compacted dark orangey brown silty clay with 15-20% inclusions of charcoal and sandstone flecks and small pieces. Occasional rounded stone pebbles.

Narrative

- F400 is defined as a made ground above the natural and seen throughout trench 4. It is likely where the natural clay has been moved and manipulated to level the ground before walls were built on top of it. It consisted of contexts (4028), (4031), (4037) and (4046), and were located in the southeast, north, and east of the trench respectively.
