    • Layer of degraded sand stone underneath rubble. Dark greyish brown silty sand with 90% inclusion of poorly sorted angular stones (ranging 6-50cm), pebbles, and lime mortar.

Narrative

    • Interior floor surfaces of structure F14 associated with the final configuration of the building on the site. Appeared to accummulation associated with wall F16, prior to door block up.

Dating Narrative

    • From lower horizon (1006) local glazed ware (types 1 and 6, including SF15) and Humberware ware potsherds were recovered dating to AD1350-1600. An iron whittle tang knife (SF11) dating to the 13th-14th century AD, nails, and a couple of fragments of smithing slag was recovered from the same horizon. From upper horizon (1013) a ceramic tile fragment with glazed splashes dated the layer to the 15th-16th century AD.
