Narrative

    • This feature was first excavated in the 2019 season. In that season it was seen as a small circular cut feature, cut into wall F401. Upon further investigation in the 2021 season it is likely to be a larger circular pit that had been blocked up and made small when wall F404 was constructed. The function of the feature is still uncertain however it may be part of a drainage system associated with the earliest building, or it could be an architectural feature that was blocked or built around.
