Narrative

- The latest wall seen in Trench 3 was F308, (3022). An E-W aligned wall to the south of pit F303, it was roughly faced and consisted of seven large stones. There was no bonding to the wall and it appeared more like a much later dry-stone wall rather than anything associated with the earlier medieval structures. If this was the case it may be related to the large pit in the centre of the trench, possibly acting as a wind break or shelter for those working there. It was sat on the clay (3024) and continued into section running down the middle of the trench. No associated cut and fill was seen.
