Short Description:
Light yellow sandy layer with charcoal patches adjacent to walls 4040 and 4041. Exposed in 2019.Moderately compact, mid yellowish brown, silty sand with 15-20% inclusions of charcoal and mortar flecks

Interpretation

    • A possible foundation or levelling deposit prior to the construction of rebuilt wall 4047. The patches of charcoal could indicate a similarity with deposit 4011 and a potential fire/collapse that caused 4047 to be built on top of this deposit
