Short Description:
Possible poorly made rebuild of wall 4027 after a burning event. Dolostone and reused roof slates, Largest stone 0.40m×0.14m, finish of stones very rough/poor, random coursing, possible foundation of wall rebuild, faces N-S and bonding material whitish like mortar with gravel inclusions.

Interpretation

    • This possibly represents a rebuild of wall 4027 after a burning event and/or subsequent collapse. The material includes very poorly cut stone and reused roof slates. This rebuild was very poor and may not have lasted very long before the construction of a more substantial wall 4026 took its place
