Short Description:
E-W aligned wall in trench 4. Dolostone, 0.21x0.22m average size of materials, roughly finished, random coursed, two courses visible, wall foundation, north and south faces visible, northern face may have been partially robbed and occasional patches of whitish lime mortar visible.

Interpretation
-
- This wall abutts wall 4038/4040 and extends westwards. Its proximity and similarity in shape and size to wall 4047 suggests this could be a later replacement for wall 4047, which was found to be particularly poor in construction and may not have been adequate to support the apparent repair done to the structure within trench 4 after a possible fire/collapse event.
