Interpretation
-
- A probable silting layer in the south of trench 3 overlying some of the walls in the area including walls 3022 and 3025.

Description
- Fairly soft
- Mid brown
- Sandy silt. Particularly sandy where sitting above remains of mortared wall and degraded rubble core of 3021.
- Frequent large angular and sub angular stones, occasional small pebbles, frequent small mortar chunks, and occasional small fragments of wall plaster. Very occasional small shells and small flecks of charcoal.
- Length; 4.50 Width; 3.00 Thickness; 0.14
- Hand ex with mattock. Sunny and dry conditions.
