Short Description:
Equivalent of subsoil (2002) in north of trench. Brownish grey silt with <30% sub angular stones (<10cm) and <30% mortar inclusions.

Interpretation

    • The deposit matrix was similar to subsoil (2002) and covered, as well as infilled a space between, rubble spread (2010) and wall (2012). It was speculatively indentified as a possible fill of a robber for the wall materials, although it seems more likely that it reflects the gradual infilling of adjacent linear features that may both be structural.
