Sample Status

  • The sample of dried 'flots' was collected by the Digventures team in a 50micron mesh seive. these were then scanned by Lisa Gray using binocular stereo-microscopy at 10-40x. The quality of preservation and the diversity and taxa were recorded.
  • Moderate abundance of a low diversity of species with good preservation. Barely/wheat grains, cleavers seeds and testas of seeds from elderberry (Sambucus nigra),fat hen (Chenopodium album) and one modern Alexander seed and one modern chickweed.mouse-ear seed Heavy residue - 406 g Light residue - 642 g
