- This iron horse fitting was probably a curbed bit suited for more mature horse (4 to 5 years old) with the capacity of accepting more pressure from the bit and more pressure on their face. They were used primarily for working horses could be dated anywhere from the Late Post-Medieval to Early Modern 1700 to 1950 AD.
