Explore the open archaeological data from our digs at Leiston Abbey

  • I'm currently a trainee train driver; before that I was a railway safety manager.
  • I was born and grew up very close to Leiston, at Aldringham. Leiston Abbey was one of the first sites I can remember visiting with my parents,  who also took me to many other local sites, such as Orford and Framlingham Castles. They also took me to Sutton Hoo when it was being re-excavated in the 1960s. I have a very clear memory of the boat with its planking and rivets like a shadow in the sand in front of me. I am incredibly grateful to my parents who gave me my interest in archaeology and history.
