- Drainage ditch F905 ran on a N-S orientation from the north section of the trench and cutting into the natural layer (9015). This was revealed through a slot cut at the northern edge of the trench and was in line with the reconstructed drain feature F801. The base of the ditch was rounded, lined with tile and was defined by a dark black-brown clay silt with occasional charcoal fleck inclusions (9008 = 9013).

Dating Narrative

- A large number of artefacts were discovered within the fill from a wide range of materials including pottery dating to between the 15th and late 15th Century, two jet beads (SF 79 & 83), possibly from the same necklace dating between 1250AD, a stone bead dating between 1350 and 1500 AD and a bone nit comb (SF 77) that appears to be of 16th to 18th century origin. The post-medieval fill of the drainage ditch feature is indicative that the drain continued to be used after the dissolution of the monastery, and slowly filled while the site was being used for farming purposes.
