Interpretation

    • Mortared floor surface that runs fairly flat just above natural and probably supported building structure (7008)

    • levelled surface, likely to be part of the original construction cut for the building. A diffuse boundary was observed with the underlying natural subsoil, suggesting a degree of trample. Deposit was observed in section and plan in the north-eastern part of the trench, and was presumed to extend across the entire trench.
