Interpretation

    • Mid brown silty clay comprising a thin layer of compact topsoil with little organic matter, extending across the whole feature. Finds included mixed modern debris, white porcelain, plastic, slate, slag and various modern nails and other material associated with adjacent kitchen garden. A small fragment of medieval glazed roof tile was also recovered from this context.
