Short Description:
Cobbled surface

Interpretation

    • This cobbled surface appeared to be set against one side of the limestone blocks in the centre of the trench. A similar such surface was found on the other side of the wall and has been given a separate context (18005). This could relate to a driveway by a potential gatehouse into the abbey.
