Short Description:
Sandy deposit
Issued to
Xose Gago | 15/07/2015
852

Interpretation

    • Sand is extremely sterile in composition and is relatively similar to 'builders sand' in make-up. Initial thoughts are that this area has already been excavated and that the sand was used to backfill the trench from a nearby quarry. Stratigraphically the clay/mortar lense found within the SE corner of this trench suggests that this is the upper fill of [14004]. However, due to extreme bioturbation of this deposit by rabbits all definite traces of a direct relationship has subsequently been destroyed. See section drawing LA_33 of Trench 14.
