Short Description:
Cut of probable Roman Well well well
Issued to
Nigel Sewell | 03/09/2022

Interpretation

    • Cut of a probable Roman well. The cut is very steep sided, the well has not been fully excavated and excavation ceased at a depth of 1.45m where it stopped due to safety. The visible cut may represent a well head because of the size and depth of it and the fact that a possible smaller cut near the base was discovered that could represent a well shaft.
