Short Description:
Cut of ditch (left leg of trouser slot)
Issued to
Charles Stephensen | 01/09/2022

Interpretation

    • This ditch runs north south and appears to be cut through most other features on trench 4, it is presumably quite late in the sequence of Roman activity here. A relationship between this ditch and ditch [4260] could not be determined in section, suggesting the two are contemporary. It is likely this ditch is one of a number of tributary drainage ditches leading towards a larger boundary ditch that runs throughout the length of trench 4
