Short Description:
Shallow layer of burnt ashy material containing daub and charcoal, NW of TR4

Interpretation

    • Layer of burnt ashy material including frequent pieces of daub and chunks of charcoal. This spread of material is visible in large patches throughout the north western quadrant of TR4 and may represent the dumping and/or spreading around of waste and/or demolition debris. The burning is not in situ as the natural clay below is not discoloured by burning
