Pot 31 310 Roman. A small group including a rim sherd from a Dressel 20 amphora (Southern Spanish), oxidised wares including a rim sherd from a bowl with a bifurcated rim and a rusticated grey ware sherd (AD120-150). Flint 15 44 3 blades 2.8g (1 complete; 3 edge damage and patinated): Mesolithic/early Neolithic. 1 end-and-side scraper (2.8g) complete:early Bronze Age (made form a thin primary flake and has semi-abrupt retouch forming a convex outline at the distal end and along the left margin. Made on a dark grey flint with speckled inclusions and has a thin buff-coloured cortex. Could be likened to an early Bronze Age thumbnail scraper, although the outline is relatively elongated and small "micro-scrapers" are also found in the Mesolithic (25.5 x 20.0 x 5.0 mm). 1 end-scraper (4.1g) complete, edge damage and patinated. (Made on an elongated flake and has a convex scraper edge that has been cursorily made with a semi-abrupt retouch. it has a few ting nicks along the edges that likely reflect incidental post-depositional damage. Heavily patinated. (31.9 x 21.7 x 7.8mm). 8 flakes (39.9g) 7 complete, 5 edge damage, 8 patinated mixed periods. 1 Notched piece (11.5g complete and patinated). Made on a chunk and has a shallow notch along one margin formed by an abrupt retouch. Has a few tiny nicks along the margin that likely reflect incidental damage following discard. It has a light patina and is made on mottled grey flint. (36.5 x 26.5 x 16.6mm not inherently datable, although is similar in condition and made on the same material as aflake likely dating from the Mesolithic/early neolithic). 1 retouched blade (1.8g complete and patinated) Broken at both ends and has a short abrupt retouch along both lateral margins. Likely broken or intentionally snapped prior to retouch. Moderately patinated with a dull white film covering most of the surfaces and made on a light yellowish-brown flint. (21.5 x 17.6 x 4.1 mm Mesolithic/early neolithic) (Dr JT Hogue December 2018)
