Short Description:
Lower fill of soft rubble fill in ditch

Interpretation
-
- See interpretation of 4148. This is a fairly homogenous lower fill of the ditch. It consists mainly of medium sized flat chunks of stone/rubble and gravel and did contain finds of pottery and animal bone as you might expect from a ditch fill. The density of construction material perhaps suggests a discrete filling in event, maybe associated with the building of the wall?
