Narrative

- Moderate to large sized Iron Age storage pit with steep sides and a flat base. The pit contained three fills, the basal fill (5113) was a dirty natural that probably built up whilst the pit was in use, it is a thin lens, 0.12m thick, and had frequent chalk inclusions. The secondary (5112) and tertiary (5048) fills were probably silting after the pit fell out of use, the tertiary fill had a sample taken from it <9>.
